Corporate Communication Officer / Assistant Manager

SIDREC is a one-stop independent dispute resolution centre for disputes involving monetary claims relating to capital market products and services. We were set up under the Capital Markets and Services (Dispute Resolution) Regulation 2010 (“Regulations”) to provide free, fair and expert help to retail investors and capital market intermediaries.

Job Description

Overall

  • Work closely with the Head of Strategy and Communication (“HSC”) in the development, coordination and implementation of communications output and strategy that supports the SIDREC’s organisational objectives

Website

  • Manage, monitor and update SIDREC’s website
  • Create appropriate website content and update the content of the website
  • Create strategies to monitor and grow website traffic
  • Ensure website quality and efficiency by conducting regular test plans
  • Periodically improve user experience of the website
  • Conduct content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information
  • Respond to and troubleshoot website issues
  • Respond to and troubleshoot website security breaches

Online Presence

  • Plan and monitor SIDREC’s ongoing presence on social media i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube
  • Develop and maintain SIDREC’s digital assets and organise their periodic distribution through various channels such as email and social media with the view to ensuring strategic, engaging and consistent messaging
  • Measure performance of digital marketing efforts using a variety of Web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
  • Constantly acquire insights in digital marketing trends and assist in the formulation of updated strategies to build lasting digital connection with SIDREC’s stakeholders, particularly retail investors

Creative Collateral Design

  • Design creative collaterals from brief to execution. The briefs may vary from print, digital, outdoor and experiential and may be for differing purposes such as SIDREC’s Annual General Meeting, Members’ Briefing and other events
  • Generate original ideas and visual concepts for SIDREC’s periodic awareness campaigns
  • Lead brainstorming and creative sessions to generate ideas
  • Handle overall design and layout for SIDREC’s presentations

Publication Production

  • Design and layout SIDREC’s publications such as Annual Reports and dr Magazine, including but not limited to generating and executing ideas for their overarching theme, cover design as well as internal design and layout
  • Assist with the publication and co-ordination of SIDREC’s Annual Report and other corporate publications such as SIDREC’s dr magazine, including sourcing for article contributions
  • Edit and proofread publications for typographical errors

Content Development

  • Develop and enhance video, audio, static and other collaterals to ensure they contain compelling narratives that bring to life SIDREC’s work
  • Assist to write internal and external communications, including but not limited to press releases, speeches, presentations and marketing collaterals to enhance SIDREC’s brand presence
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure the articles are in compliance with SIDREC’s branding and other policies
  • Manage and monitor public relations affairs and publications including designing surveys and analysing the results

Events Planning & Management

  • Plan, organise and manage in-person and online SIDREC events, including but not limited to Annual General Meetings, Members Briefings and the Annual Roundtable for SIDREC’s Panel of Mediators & Adjudicators
  • Liaise with all internal and external parties and managing the logistics of the events
  • Manage SIDREC’s participation in relevant third-party events and exhibitions
  • Manage SIDREC’s corporate image and public relations related aspects of the events

Media Relations

  • Build, manage and maintain strong relationship with the media, including but not limited to the effective management of media buys for approved advertising initiatives
  • Liaise with various media channels on SIDREC news and events including but not limited to coordinating logistics, preparing the necessary internal briefs, external media kits, press releases or by-lined articles
  • Strengthen SIDREC’s image via strong rapport and relationship with media personnel
  • Identify ‘new media’ opportunities

Others

  • Perform and undertake such other assignments/projects as may be instructed by the CEO and HSC from time-to-time

Job Requirement: Qualification & Experience

  • A strong first degree in design, communication, advertising, marketing or the equivalent from a recognised university and relevant professional qualification.
  • Proven ability to design creative collaterals from brief to execution
  • Proven ability to maintain and update websites, particularly WordPress website maintenance
  • Proven ability in publication production, including cover design, internal layout and design, editing and proofreading
  • Proven varied design experience hosing the ability to adapt a design or concept across a variety of channels
  • Proven ability in developing corporate presentations, managing events and project management
  • Proven background in online and digital communications
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effect, 3D sketch-up and other design software is an added advantage
  • Must be very savvy in social media
  • Must be creative in aesthetics and presentations
  • Must have an eye for detail and pixel perfection
  • Must be very savvy with video conferencing facilities, particularly Zoom and Google Meet
  • Strong typography skills
  • Strong interest in visual storytelling and brand design
  • Highly proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both oral and written
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to create technical and persuasive content
  • Understanding of Search Engine Optimisation is an added advantage
  • Experience as a creative thinker who can translate strategic and marketing needs into beautiful brand work is an added advantage
  • Experience in developing corporate presentations, managing corporate events and project management is an added advantage
  • Sensitivity to the retail capital market (e.g. share trading and investing in unit trusts and private retirement schemes) is an added advantage
  • At least 3 – 5 years’ working experience in a similar role
