SIDREC Appoints New CEO
KUALA LUMPUR, 5 December 2019: The Securities Industry Dispute Resolution Center (SIDREC) has announced the appointment of Sharmila Sharma as their new Chief Executive Officer.
SIDREC kicked off the year with its first exhibition at the PJ Startup Festival 2019, organised by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to develop and support the growth of entrepreneurship and new business start-ups in Selangor. The non-profit event focused on providing young entrepreneurs the opportunity to gain insight about growing a business as well as to connect and network with policy makers, business owners, market participants looking for interesting start-ups and good talent, as well as other groups including local council services offering practical advice.
SIDREC together with our colleagues from the Ombudsman for Financial Services, were able to raise awareness of the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) avenue which we offer to visitors young and old, across different industries, all of whom were genuinely interested and happy to know about the help which we provide. SIDREC’s Head of Operations Aishara Abdul Rahim, presented a talk on how our ADR services could help investors in the event they have a dispute with their financial service provider, involving financial loss in the course of investing.
After the talk, several attendees approached the team, interested in finding out more about SIDREC’s services. It was indeed a great way for SIDREC to connect with the community in and around Petaling Jaya.
