Nanyang Siang Pau accorded SIDREC a front-page story detailing SIDREC’s online dispute resolution service during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown on 21 December 2020. The leading Chinese daily also provided an extensive write-up on the dispute resolution services that SIDREC provides for retail investors in the event they get into trouble with their financial service providers – how to lodge a complaint to SIDREC, what is an eligible case, difference between mediation and adjudication, etc.

Driving Financial Literacy in the Classroom

The Securities Industry Dispute Resolution Center (SIDREC), in collaboration with Bursa Malaysia, the Private Pension Administrator (PPA) Malaysia and UOW Malaysia KDU, recently completed the second instalment of a pilot project aimed at increasing the capital market and financial literacy of students through the undergraduate programme’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) course. The objectives of this initiative were achieved through not just classroom lectures and tutorials, but also the creative use of digital media and the incorporation of out-of-the-box marketing and promotional strategies in a competition towards the end of the course.

SIDREC’s 5th AGM

SIDREC held its 5th AGM on 26th March 2015 at the Securities Commission Malaysia. It was well attended by our Members with many remaining after the meeting for the high-tea. The event was an excellent opportunity for SIDREC to engage and socialise with our Members.
