We’re Looking for a Head of Operations

SIDREC is a one-stop independent dispute resolution centre for disputes involving monetary claims relating to capital markets products and services. We were set up under the Capital Markets and Services (Dispute Resolution) Regulations 2010 to provide free, fair and expert help to the public investors and our Members.

Head of Operations

Job Description

  • Work closely with CEO in overall administrative and operational functions of SIDREC’s Human Resource (HR) and Administration (Admin).
  • Manage the development and implementation of strategies and policies of SIDREC’s HR and Admin function
  • Provide counselling on policies and procedures relating to HR and Admin function
  • Develop and review HR initiative and systems
  • Plan and manage resources to ensure effective and efficient operation
  • Develop and review system and processes to streamline and enhance SIDREC’s office operations
  • Manage end to end hiring process i.e. from the preparation of job descriptions, sourcing candidates until the onboarding of a new recruit
  • Develop, review and oversee the implementation of SIDREC’s competency framework
  • Develop and manage training and development programmes
  • Assist in performance management processes
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Maintain employee records
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance
  • Work independently and where appropriate with other unit heads on engagement with stakeholders comprising regulators, capital market intermediaries (specifically SIDREC’s Members), industry associations and other capital market stakeholders.
  • Manage the development and implementation of SIDREC’s risk framework
  • Support any policy and research related work identified by CEO and undertake such other assignments/projects as may be instructed by CEO from time to time
  • Mentor, coach and supervise administrative staff

Job Requirement: Qualification and Experience

  • A strong first degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Social Studies or other relevant field from a recognised university with knowledge or experience in HR functions.
  • Knowledge in Accounting/Finance is an added advantage
  • At least 20 years of relevant working experience of which includes at least 7 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Experience in financial and/or capital market is an added advantage

Other General Requirements

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia
  • Good written and spoken communication skill in Mandarin is a plus but not essential
  • Excellent organisational and leadership ability
  • Effective engagement and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse team
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, proactive and results oriented
